I’m a huge fan of lists. Lists about anything from upcoming travels to something as boring and mundane as my monthly financials. If it’s in my life I’ve probably created a list for it. Recently I’ve done some reflecting. I’m over the age of 25 *gasp* (never did I think I would ever reach the Quarter life crises). But low and behold I did. All things considered I’m doing pretty well for myself. I have a great job, a great life partner, a great apartment, and great friends. But I always need to challenge myself. Perhaps that’s the athlete in me.

And so, the goal of (great ready for the cliche) 30 before 30. Well, it’ll likely be more like 30 before 31 only because of the timing and trying to set realistic goals. If you check out my Footprints page you’ll notice that I’m only at 13 countries. I turn 30 in the year 2019. That sounds much farther away than it actually is.

I do have a plan though, I promise. I’m not just throwing out this goal willy nilly with no set blueprint in the works – who do you think I am! It’ll be tough. I will have to make sacrifices but I think I really do have a solid shot at this.

2015 – 2016: In 2016 I will be turning 27, so in actuality I still have another 7 months to get in a few countries – and I already have those in place:

Belgium
Netherlands

2016-2017: This is a bit more ambiguous and a little tougher as there are familial obligations to cater to in my 27th year BUT here are the countries that I have planned on visiting:

San Marino – I have a trip planned with my family to Italy but because San Marino counts as a new country – as small as it is, guess who will be making the trek!
Iceland
Costa Rica and Panama
– This trip is not completely confirmed but I would love to visit Costa Rica and if I’m going to be travelling that way – why not throw in another country!

London The Shard

That would mean from when I turn 28 I will have visited 19 countries! The trick is to visit places that are relatively easy to see other countries within. For example Europe, the Caribbean islands or Asia. Cheap and easy travel make it much more accessible and feasible to travel to so many different places.

Do you have any goals you’re looking to meet?
